Hello, I'm Alison
Welcome to Every Mother Nutrition, I’m a registered Nutritional Therapist and I specialise in Women's Health particularly the child bearing years from pregnancy, postpartum recovery and beyond.

I help women thrive in all stages of their journey to and through motherhood, and help them embrace this new version of themselves. I do this by supporting them with the right combination of nutrition and lifestyle support for each stage they are at, along with providing coaching and motivation for every step of the journey, to work through any stumbling blocks and keep moving forward at a pace that's right for you.

There is a big gap in support and information about how to nurture your body and mind back to health following both pregnancy and the postpartum periods when many women, can be, up to 10 years later, still experiencing the effects on their health of fertility treatment, pregnancy, labour and breastfeeding, leaving women very vulnerable to stress, mood fluctuations, chronic exhaustion, insomnia, poor memory and concentration and more which can all effect our work, relationships and enjoyment of motherhood.

My mission in the 1:1 personalised and online group programmes I run, is that every mother and mother to be, should have access to easy to follow and informative nutrition and lifestyle advice as well as a supportive and nurturing environment through which to journey through the incredible physical and emotional changes as she becomes a mother known as ‘Matrescence’ I want to help every mother embrace this powerful female transition and view it as a wonderful new, stronger phase of life.

I run virtual clinics at present which provide a stress free consultation experience. I wanted my services to be inclusive to all women, so the name 'Every Mother Nutrition’ represents the supportive and inclusive network I strive to create, in what can often feel like a lonely journey.

As a Mother myself, to a 5 year old boy and a 16 month girl, I fully understand what an emotional and physical rollercoaster this period of our lives can be, but I also know the tactics for managing these ups and downs so you can look and feel like the best version of yourself, full of energy, optimism and back to your playful self

"Consultation was superb, Alison really knows her stuff in regards to the post-natal and peri-menopause periods and how to treat symptoms holistically. Non-judgemental, she made me feel very empowered to take control of my own health, can’t recommend her highly enough"
Why am I the best Nutritional therapist for you?
My friends and family always say that I'm a born nurturer, as well as having a curious obsession with how the human body and mind works. These qualities were well suited to training for 3 years at The College of Naturopathic Medicine in Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy which included 200 hours of clinic time as well as much academic research.

My previous career in publishing however, certainly didn't have room for these nurturing qualities and I constantly felt mentally drained from trying to be part of the rat race which didn't align with my beliefs. This culminated during my 20's early 30’s, with an ongoing struggle with anxiety, low mood and poor digestion. My typical fast paced London lifestyle full of late nights, erratic eating patterns, little exercise and lots of alcohol certainly were all exacerbating my symptoms. Once this started to effect my ability at work, leading to periods of time on sick leave, as well as affecting my relationship, I knew I needed to look for a more long term solution. I also wanted to start trying to conceive and was concerned how my symptoms may affect my ability to become pregnant.

I had visited Dieticians during this time which for short periods had helped but, I found it hard to stick to the restrictive plans they gave and I realised that in order to get well, I needed to understand exactly what was going on in my body from a scientific point of view which led me to enrol on the prestigious College of Naturopathic Medicines Biomedicine and Nutritional Therapy 3 year course, as well as led me to discover a wonderful functional medicine doctor who opened my eyes to the mind-body connection. Throughout this three years of study, not only did I manage to reach balanced, happier moods, but I learnt exactly what my body needed to support my reproductive system and be able to conceive. Two children later, I am now able to utilise all the skills I have learnt to help you on your journey to motherhood and beyond.

I believe in treating the whole body not just the symptom - much like watering the roots of a plant not just the leaves, so taking a thorough and detailed health history and symptom review is key to my consultations with clients. I am passionate about food and come from a family of foodies, so I understand how important our enjoyment of food is to happiness in life and also understand as a mother, that time is precious, which is why my plans are not restrictive, full of expensive, hard to find ingredients or timely to cook and adds to your 'to do list' (unless you find cooking is your Zen of course). I want you to connect with your body through food and nurturing practices, to enable you to clearly understand how your unique body works and to feel full of energy, calm and loving the new version of you that motherhood brings. I'm here to help coach, motivate and hold your hand through making these changes to your daily life so you feel fully supported.

I’m a member of BANT and registered with the CNHC - which just means that you can be assured that I have high standards of education and professional practice, in order to protect my client's interest, and the professional reputation of nutrition and lifestyle medicine.
